Nocturnal Urban (2024)
This work reflects my experience of living through constant movement and uncertainty in Greece. Frequent relocation and unfamiliar surroundings created a sense of instability and emotional disorientation, which became the starting point for the work.
Night became an important metaphor for this state. As the surroundings become quieter, hearing, touch, and vision become more attentive, and the boundary between reality, memory, and imagination becomes less certain. I was interested in this heightened state of awareness, where fear and intuition exist together.
Birds became the central symbol of this duality. They can represent freedom, movement, and independence, but also danger and pursuit. Their contrasting meanings reflect my own experience of wanting to move forward while confronting uncertainty and fear.
